The New Savusavu Children's Park is under construction and you can help!
Above is the reclaimed area between the Copra Shed and the bus stand where the new Children's Park will be located. The 1/3 at the far right is a SS Yacht Club initiative, for the kids' sailing. The other 2/3 is an STA initiative. We'll be doing MAJOR fundraising to acquire the playground equipment and do the landscaping. You can help make this dream come true for the children of Savusavu. Any amount you can spare would be most welcome! For donation details please contact Collin at Lomalagi Resort lomalagi@connect.com.fj

Savusavu Airport Terminal Upgrade
Savusavu will become the first town to have its airport terminal designed to depict the unique Fijian culture and tradition. Airports Fiji Limited board chairman Adrian Sofield said the new design is in line with AFL’s decision to have all airports portray Fiji’s multi – cultural heritage as a requirement. He said that while plans are currently in its preliminary stages, work on the new-look terminal will begin next year. “We are currently looking for local architects to design the terminal. We do not want an overseas architect because we have made it a requirement for all our airports so that tourists and visitors feel Fiji everywhere from the moment they get off the plane,” Mr Sofield said.“ We will be working with local architects for the next two months before work begins at the hidden paradise (Savusavu).” Mr Sofield confirmed that AFL has set aside $0.8million for the works following the completion of their biggest project this year in the outer islands. “We have just completed work on the Lakeba runway last week where we spent $800,000 and next on the list is Savusavu,” Mr sofield said.AFL is hoping that work in Savusavu completes by the end of 2012.
